I tried posting this last Friday which was the 40th anniversary of the beginning of the Watergate hearings, but I had problems with the server. In any event, here’s Tricky Dick. Watergate, of course,  resulted in Nixon’s resignation.

Nixon swore he wasn’t the crook he really was. His presidency was plagued not only with Watergate but also with the Vietnam War which dragged on during his administration, even though he swore he had a secret plan to end it. Nixon’s administration, more than anything else, marked the beginning in the slide of American’s faith in their government. The partisanship and bickering in Washington today is a direct result of Nixon’s crooked ways.
