According to the Chinese zodiac, 2022 is the Year of the Tiger.

The Tiger is known for being courageous and energetic. Traits we are going to need this year as we continue to deal with Covid 19 as well as all the other crazy things that fill the evening news programs.

As you can see, I used the triangle as the main design element. Below you can see my initial sketch for the illustration which looked more like an angry  kitty than a tiger. 

For the previous six zodiac illustrations, (all shown below) I always looked for design elements to hold the images together. For the rooster I used both straight and especially the curved lines in its tail. For the dog I used the spots. And for the boar I used the curved tusk and tail design. For the rat, I used the jagged triangles of its claws. For the ox I used the zigzag lines and circles.

This year’s illustration was done in Illustrator.
