Here are a couple of new T-shirt designs available at my TeePublic.com store. (To visit, click HERE.) Sometimes ideas just pop into one’s head, apparently out of nowhere, and that’s certainly true of these two images. I liked the idea of Cupid aging, yet staying a cherub. To me, the diaper is as funny as his gruff face and cigar. I did this in Illustrator, then brought it into Photoshop. I thought it needed something extra so I layered a textured image on top, using the Multiply filter.

A week later when I started the mermaid image, I thought: Why not change things up a little? Why do we assume a mermaid would fall in love with a human? She is part fish. But instead of having her with a fish, I thought it would be comical to pair her with a burly alligator dressed in a sailor’s uniform. When I brought this image into Photoshop I tried layering another textured image onto it. But for me it didn’t work. Almost but not quite. The textured image is below. See if you don’t agree with me.
